Dr. Sara Karbowski (Hayes), Physical Therapist

Dr. Sara is a licensed physical therapist with extensive experience providing care to those in pain. She has comprehensive education and possesses a great passion for her patients’ quality of life. Her foremost priority is helping patients regain function and independence. Dr. Sara believes in treating the patient as a whole, instead of just treating the pain. Her treatment plans are patient-oriented and she makes sure to include the patients and their caretakers in all minor and major decision-making. She is extremely professional in her interactions with clients and upholds their right to respect, privacy, and informed consent. To enhance patient satisfaction and compliance with treatment, Sara incorporates patient education as an essential part of her sessions, and she is known for her intuitive counseling; she quickly picks up patients’ discomfort or reluctance and addresses their concerns. Her skills align well with the goals of TruWell Physical Therapy as she, too, prioritizes patients’ wellness above all else. She does so by making realistic goals which she helps her patients achieve, enhancing their physical as well as mental well-being.

Dr. Maggie Gorman, Physical Therapist

Dr. Maggie earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Wayne State University and has specialized training as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. With several years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, she has developed a strong expertise in orthopedics. Her dedication to patient-centered care enables her to design treatment plans that optimize outcomes and help patients meet their recovery goals, whether they are managing chronic pain or returning to sports. Dr. Maggie’s expertise extends beyond traditional physical therapy, as she continually pursues additional techniques to better serve her patients. She is skilled in manual therapy, dry needling, pelvic floor therapy, and corrective exercises tailored for pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Maggie enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and their dogs.

Dr. Megan Saigh, Physical Therapist

Dr. Megan is a licensed physical therapist who earned her degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. She has experience working in three different states, providing knowledge of various treatment approaches and interventions, and working with patients from diverse backgrounds. Megan believes in patient-centered care, where each treatment is individualized and the patient is an active participant in their treatment plan. Her primary experience is in outpatient orthopedics with additional training in dry needling and pelvic floor therapy. When not working, Megan enjoys traveling, golfing, and spending time with family.

Traci Cook, Physical Therapist

Traci has been working with patients suffering from chronic pain since 2000. Her passion lies in helping people find relief through physical therapy. Traci's goal is to help her clients achieve their goals and live life to its fullest potential. She believes that everyone deserves to feel good about themselves and should have access to quality care. Traci enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. When she isn't busy with her children, she loves to travel and spend time outdoors.

Dr. Tracey Winkler, Physical Therapist

Dr. Tracey Winkler is a highly skilled and compassionate craniosacral physical therapist with a deep commitment to empowering her patients on their journey to wellness. With a solid foundation in physical therapy and specialized expertise in craniosacral therapy, Tracey brings a unique and holistic approach to her practice. With years of experience in the field, Dr. Winkler has honed her skills in this gentle and transformative therapy. She believes that healing is a collaborative process, and she creates a safe, nurturing space for her patients to explore their physical and emotional well-being.

Dr. Alysse Hill, Physical Therapist

Dr. Alysse Hill is an accomplished physical therapist who graduated from Central Michigan University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). She has gained a diverse range of experience in physical rehabilitation in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including over nine years in outpatient orthopedic care. Living and practicing in Brighton, Michigan, Dr. Hill continues her commitment to delivering high-quality, personalized care at TruWell Physical Therapy. She specializes in treating a wide range of patients, from athletes recovering from surgery to older adults focused on improving balance and independence. Dr. Hill's expertise includes manual therapy, dry needling, and women's health, ensuring that her patients receive comprehensive and individualized treatment plans. Her approach emphasizes collaboration to help patients achieve their goals and return to the activities they enjoy. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hill is actively involved in the Highland dance community, offering strength and conditioning classes to local dancers. A former competitive Highland dancer, she integrates her love of movement and fitness into both her professional practice and personal life.

Bella Foster, Practice Executive Assistant

Her role involves orchestrating schedules, coordinating appointments, and fostering clear communication between the clinic’s skilled therapists and valued patients. Lauren Benning, Operations Coordinator

Lauren plays a vital role in the daily operations of TruWell Physical Therapy, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly so the physical therapists can dedicate their time and energy to delivering personalized care. Her commitment to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment helps every patient feel at ease from the moment they walk through the door. When she's not supporting the team at TruWell, Lauren enjoys quality time with her family, diving into a good book, and taking peaceful walks in nature.

Brian Foster, Practice Manager

Being a vigilant practice manager, Brian manages a multitude of administrative responsibilities for TruWell Physical Therapy including the management of daily operations, as well as the development of business strategy. He possesses all the skills required to skillfully navigate through the day-to-day operations at a medical facility, including but not limited to strong interpersonal communication, decision making, problem-solving, and tech-savviness. At TruWell PT, Brian is responsible for communicating with the physicians, health insurance representatives, and other healthcare professionals. His attention to detail and up-to-date knowledge is valuable to us, as he manages the schedules in our large-scale facility and performs human resource duties such as hiring, negotiating, implementing efficient personnel policies, facilitating constructive staff communication, maintaining equipment, and ordering supplies. He also handles the clinic’s legal obligations such as compliance with government guidelines, safe storage of medical records, payroll completion, tax preparation, insurance claim transfers, performing internal compliance audits, and marketing new medical services. Brian’s organizational skills are especially useful as he ensures efficient time management for both the clinicians and patients while enhancing delivery of care.
